While I didn't make its website (that was Karen), the LODP has been a successful programming social club in Colorado's Grand Valley for more than a year now.

Highly nontraditional, there has been no attempt to grow it (as of yet, other than hackathons, talks, and educational outreach), and as such, it has grown into a very tight knit group of hackers, professors, suits working for the man, and down-and-out desert hillbillies, all at the forefront of tech development.

As a result of the club:

I've been kicked by a donkey.

I've learned quite a lot about Grace Hopper, from someone very close to her.

I've given a few presentations, and attended quite a few more.

And have learned more about a thousand little subjects than I'd have dared on my own.

Suffice it to say, it has been a very good experience!
